Our Vacation, Boring But Fun

Taking a day off to complete a whole stretch of holidays, Chun Wei and I decided to visit Fraser's Hill as my last visit was 17 years ago while he had never been there! After packing everything, Naughty drove us up! Basically, we sort of just follow road signs and would rejoice whenever we see something that would led us to our destination...

And we finally saw something that wrote 'Bukit Fraser'...what a relieve! The journey there was basically mundane, but nevermind as we could never stop chatting and doing all sorts of funny things together :) While Mix FM was always there till we reached.

This is what we saw along the way, basically. Nothing much to blog about. Haha...
Mountains, roads, sea, mountains, roads, sky, mountains, smaller roads, sky...

We finally reached!!! That's the old, trademark clock! Just had to get a quick shot of it! Whoever who comes here definitely has to pose with it!
After all the impromptu clicks, we had to settle down in a hotel first! We had a few quick rounds around the resort, but...all the others looked more like unkempt eerie bungalows/apartments which basically and immediately drove us off at once! Luckily we had earlier booked a room at Shahzan's Inn (which was the best among all).

Here I am outside the hotel! Behind me is a tiny fountain place, which I feel has the nicest view of the hotel (Inn, to be specific). So, looking at the situation, there was nothing much we could do there. Jungle trekking? Too tiring. Bird-watching? Too boring. What else? Nothing. So where did we go? And what did we do? Luckily we brought our Canon Powershot S5 IS to play around with. Quickly, we rented a tendem. That was really my first time riding a tendem and it was SO MUCH FUN!

We spent almost half an hour posing for pics and riding the bike, not realising that it was almost time to return the tendem. Time flies. But it's not when you are in Fraser's :P

Here's CW standing at the Fraser's Hill signpost. So it's all about the nature, after all. SO let's just take pictures.

And here I am posing by the clock tower.

We've actually made this pic a black and white while accentuating the green background. That's what Canon can do :) No, I'm not getting paid for this but, really, it's good.

Time passed really slow here, it was only about 4pm after we returned the tendem. Was hungry already! So we had some fried rice and some KickapOO! YeahOO!

Here's the full map of the resort. Kinda small, although it looks big. This map was actually zoomed in after we were 'trailed' by an annoying dog, presumably he thought that we were gonna invade 'his' territory! So we had to stand from afar to take this shot.

It's dinner time! Such cool place should be accompanied with hot, steamy steamboat! Not buffet style though, but enough to keep us warm. At first, we were only staring at the food, as only these are placed in front of us. What happened to the stove? The soup? It took soooooo long for those two to be ready that it made us look like this:

Dinner wasn't long. Nothing much and nothing special. At that time, we missed Yuen's so much! That's when we decided to leave Fraser's early next morning to head somewhere else!
So we decided on Ipoh. CW wanted to eat the famous Ipoh Taugeh Chicken Rice there, although we have one in Jalan Gasing. Nevertheless, to escape from the boredom, we went straight to Ipoh. It was a 2 hours' drive from Fraser's.

Hungry and tired of driving, and no Ipoh Taugeh Chicken Rice, we just had to settle for the Char Siew, roasted chicken, roasted BBQ pork, and roasted duck. All meat in one plate. Hungry!!!

Snapping pics of places all the way, just like a sicko tourist! But that's the way it is, when you are in places of no interest! haha...Managed to catch Anglo-Chinese School. Oldest school in Ipoh? If I'm not mistaken, yes.

Then I suddenly suggested that we go to San Poh Tong. Something like Three Precious Caves. It's a temple's name, of course. I only vaguely remember the way there when I went to Ipoh almost 7 years ago. I could only remember that we passed by a Peanut roundabout, which kept CW wondering how it looked like. And at last, we reached the Peanut! But still no signs of the temple! And it was raining quite heavily during our rounds in the city. No chance. So had to leave already. Pumped petrol, met local, asked about the place, then rupanya, it was near where we came from!

Regardless whether we found the right place, just take pics la! Posers...in the drizzle...kinda romantic though. Although I'm not the worshipping kind, I made my way into the Kuan Yin temple to pray, for health and for wealth! Hehe....

And then it's my turn posing with the Pig! Me dragging Pig dragging Horse! Hehe...Can you see the Monkey God beside me? He's a poser as well :P

So this was the last photo taken in the temple and in Ipoh. Brought back some pomelo, tidbits, and famous Ipoh snacks. Enjoyed the whole trip very much, although not much activities to be done. Well, having someone you love to be with you is sufficient to make it a sunny day :)

Jay Chou Is Still Running!

King of Pop Asia had come and conquer! Jay is on the run...and still running...and running real havoc...at a rate that attracted so many to Stadium Merdeka...kids, chicks, Ah Bengs, aunties, ah poh, all turned up amidst the threatening rain...

In case no one had mentioned before, it is obvious that Mr Chou has grown sideways...not really apparent on his body yet, though, but one really can't miss the extra flesh beneath his once slim chin! Just take a look at the video that I found in YouTube (i had some recordings myself but it was a cheap tic so it's too far la!)

See what I mean? Anyway, the concert was a blast! So different from the previous one that I've seen! (other artists) He sang up to 30 songs from all his albums and I was really amazed that he could actually dance! Not to say that he danced like the Backstreet 'Men', but it was OK. =)

Jay has this very special talent about music that he can play all the instruments so well. In one of the concert VCDs that I've seen before, it was as amazing...and he would definitely 'show' all his special skills, that's for sure :)

But what really happened to the guest artists? No one else to invite it seems? Every time there's Jay on the run, there's Nan Quan Mama joining the fun! Other than the female lead, don't think the rest have what it takes though ><
Well, at least I also get to watch fireworks display...still worth the money =)
